Hat Sizing

The easiest way to determine your hat size is by using the metric system:

The metric system is a measurement in cm of the CIRCUMFERENCE of your head.

With a tape measure, measure around your head at the lowest point on your head where a cap would sit - just above the ears, and around across the forehead.

The tape measure should not be too tight or too loose, but comfortable as you would expect a hat to be.

This measurement should always be rounded UP to the nearest cm to determine the metric hat size you should wear. When a tape measure is not available, use a piece of string which can be fitted to the head, marked and then measured.

Cock & Bull's 8 Piece Tweed Rambler caps are currently available in metric sizes: 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61 & 62 cm.

You can also often wear one size UP from your measured head size. For example, if your head measurement is 58, you can wear a 58 or a 59. Which is why....

Our Tweed Cadet Caps are available in Small (56-57), Medium (58-59) or Large (60-61)

If your head is smaller than size 56 or larger than size 62, we can help you! Use our Get In Touch page to make a request for a special order (this will attract a small surcharge).

If you know your imperial size, you can find out your metric size using the following table:

Waistcoat Sizing

Our off-the-peg waistcoats come chest sizes (in inches): 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46 and 48.

Get someone to help take your chest measurement. You should not be wearing bulky clothes, a T-shirt is ideal. Use a tape measure just beneath the armpits, with your breathing relaxed and your arms relaxed and by your sides. The tape measure should not be too tight or too loose.

We can make other sizes to order (this will attract a small surcharge), please consult our Special Order Creations page before using our Get In Touch page to place a special request.

Bow Tie Sizing

Our bow ties are ready-tied and adjustable from 31cm(12.2in) to 55cm(21.65in) - 1 size fits all.

Why Ready Tied?

We all love a self-tie bow tie. But handwoven tweeds have a loose weave that would lose its structure (go out of shape) if pulled about by repeated tying and untying. We've found there is far more longevity in tweed for ready-tied, rather than self-tied bow ties. And we want you to treasure yours for years to come!
